The Mining City Writing Project: Megan McNamer, Nov. 14-20

All of us at the Clark Chateau are so excited to host author Megan McNamer as our first writer-in-residence as part of the Mining City Writing Project! Megan McNamer’s novel Children and Lunatics (Black Lawrence Press, 2016) won the Big Moose Prize. Her essays have appeared in Salon,Sports Illustrated, The Sun, Tropic Magazine (of The Miami Herald) andIslands Magazine, and she has won finalist and semi-finalist awards fromNew Millennium, Glimmer Train, Writers@Work, the University of New Orleans
Writing Contest for Study Abroad, the Travelers’ Tales Best Travel Writing Solas Awards for 2016, and Carve Magazine’s Raymond Carver Short Story Contest for 2016.

She has an MA in Ethnomusicology from the University of Washington and studies and performs Balinese music as a member of the Missoula, Montana community gamelan, Manik Harum.
